Aviator Jackets

More snow here as you can see.

I have been wearing this oversized denim shirt a lot lately. It just seems perfect to throw on with sweats, skinny jeans, or leggings.  Pair it with some boots and a sweater and i'm ready to go.

I am going on a vintage shopping tour in the city this spring and I am so excited.  I know everyone who lives in the suburbs thinks the closest city is called "the city." Ours is NYC.  :-)

Last night we ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant...so yummy!   I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Jo: H&M shirt, Target aviator jacket

C.P: Costco shirt, vintage flight jacket (the warmest coat I have ever tried on).

Monkeys and Turbans

Monkey Tee

Homemade turban
Memphis
scary huh?

This past weekend C and I went to our friends' house to chill.  Isn't their bulldog cute?  Isn't their centerpiece scary?  Our friend has always loved Halloween and anything horror.  She and her husband even got married on Halloween 2009.  It was great!

C got this t-shirt at a funky store in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico last August.  I have family there so we go as often as possible.  I have a strange love of monkeys, and he has a not-so-strange love for music. ..must be why I love this t-shirt.

Oh how I would love to be somewhere warm right now!

C.P.: T-shirt from Puerto Rico, LRG jeans, G-shock watch.
Jo: H&M: shirt, necklace, jeans, scarf(worn as a DIY turban). Zara faux fur sweater.

*DON'T FORGET TO "FOLLOW" WEAR AND WHERE SO YOU CAN STAY UP TO DATE ON OUR NEW POSTS!* *We are going to start adding some of C's music to the blog also!*

Winter Afternoon

Finally I got a haircut...the curls are back!

Hi All,

Today was a typical Thursday.  I went to school. C went to work.  The usual.

I am trying to go outside or near doors/windows for the pics because they come out so much better with the natural lighting.  However, you can see why I haven't been taking my pictures outside...snow and cold! Another snow storm is coming tonight- BOOO! Did I mention how much we hate winter?  C and I are planning to move somewhere warm... one day.

CP: LRG jeans, G-Shock watch, Mossimo shirt, Gap hoodie, Old Navy Jacket, LiveStrong wristband.

Jo: Forever21 dress, H & M sweater, Chinese laundry boots

The weekend is almost here. Hang in there for one more day! You can do it!  :-)

Summer Lunch With Boyfriend/Girlfriend

January 16, 2011
Summer Lunch with Boyfriend
[TopShop white T & bangle, Mark Jacobs polka dot shorts, Forever 21 clogs, Asos bag, Chanel sunglasses, NARS nail color]

I may be late but I just discovered Polyvore.com.  I have been dreaming about warm weather as I suffer through the cold.  Here is an outfit I created.  I would wear it on a day when C and I would walk to a cafe to get lunch/dinner on a summer Saturday.

As for the outfit, I will make a few adjustments when I wear it.
1) I don't really like wearing shorts.  Instead I have these huge navy polka dot pants I got at Good Will.  I would wear the pants at my waist.
2) I would tuck the white t-shirt into the pants and put a belt around my waist to hold the pants up.
3) There is no way I can afford Chanel sunglasses so I would opt for these cool replacements from Urban Outfitters.
4) I wouldn't pay $16 for nail polish.  I would probably opt for Sally Hensen Insta-dry in Rapid Red. Much more economical and really does dry quickly.
5) I would wear a white T from forever21 like this just because it's much cheaper.  If I wanted to "splurge" I would go with one from American Apparel like this.

Summer Lunch With Girlfriend
[Mek cargo shorts, Ray Ban aviators, LRG T-shirt, G-shock watch, Creative Recreation shoes]

Here is an outfit I created.  I'm new at styling men's outfits but I feel like this is what C would wear on our lunch/dinner date. He said I did well. :-)

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Freezing Brooklyn Evening

My sister and her cat

Isn't her closet great!?

Animals Love CP

Bear

Aqeelah at her art exhibit

This Sunday was Aqeelah's art exhibit.  She displayed some of her Arabic calligraphy, landscape, floral, geometric and abstract art.  It was very beautiful and impressive.  All proceeds go towards helping her return to Morocco to study Arabic.  She also has photography she took in Morocco for sale. Let me know if you are interested and I can put you in contact with her.

After that, C and I went to Brooklyn to visit my sis and her bf.  I love her closet and am thinking about getting one for myself.  You can find it here or here.  We took some pics at Mischa and Gabe's place before going to 200 Fifth to watch the football game and eat. The sweet potato fries were great and the place was diverse. We love diversity if you couldn't tell. :-)

CP: Fruit of the Loom thermal & T-shirt, Old Navy jeans, Spizikes (Jordans)

Jo: H&M jumpsuit and belt, Target cardigan, Bakers combat boots.

Mischa(sister): Audrey Brooke OTK boots, BDG jeans, cardigan, belt via Urban Outfitters, World Market scarf.

Cinema Suites

C getting ready for the movie

I love that smile

Me with the menu deciding what to order

How was your weekend? I hope you had a good one!  I did!  I hardly got anything on my to-do list done. (Yes, I am a list-making fanatic...yes, even on the weekends!)  I went to the movies (as you know from this post), a disappointing dance class, Costco, watched Eat Pray Love (amazing), art show, dinner with my sister and her bf.  :-)

A few days ago C and I double dated at the new and improved Essex Green Cinemas. We opted for the "cinema suite" upgrade option, which was an excellent choice. Will got our tickets online and reserved our seats.  We got there about a half hour before the show to check out the menu and get comfortable.  We ordered dinner and drinks and watched 'True Grit.'  This is considered a western film which I thought would put me to sleep in 5 minutes. Could you tell the guys picked the movie? However, I was pleasantly surprised at how the movie kept my interest. The best part of the experience was the seating.  That lazy boy chair was so comfortable I didn't want to leave when the movie was done!  I could have slept in that chair for the rest of the night.  I would definitely do it again!  +1 cool point for essex county(much needed).

On another note...I wore lipstick for the first time in my 26 years.  As you can see in the first two pics, I started out with a bold color called 'retro red.'  I usually wear only Mary Kay Satin Lips Lip Balm (this awsome stuff puts chapstick and blistex to shame) but I wanted to experiment.  I decided I like my naked lips much better so i'll just stick to the satin lips lip balm. Don't fix what's not broken, right?! :-)

Jo: American eagle boy fit jeans(most comfortable jeans ever in life), H&M button down shirt and belt, Forever21 cardigan, Zara scarf, Aldo gold ring, other jewelry so old I can't remember where I got it from, Spring shoes, Costco glasses.

C's oldest brother said I looked like an MTV VJ this night. I don't know if that is a compliment or not but I'll just pretend it is.  We went over to CP's brother's house to celebrate his birthday.  Food, family, friends, cupcakes, drinks, football, wi, xbox connect. Good times!

I hope you enjoy your week.  I start school again this week and teach Zumba and abs class.

May the weekend come quickly and never leave!! (A girl can dream, can't she)

NYE 2011

We are loving the self-timer on the camera!

Sweater open?

Or sweater closed?

Chilling bubbly before we go out.

No need for a fridge or freezer when there is so much snow out on the back porch.

Our pop-of-color matching accessories (unplanned)  :-)

I love noise makers on new years.

HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!  I hope you had a fun and safe evening celebrating the start of a new year.  We went to a friend's house nearby.  Champagne and a soul train line=great way to bring in 2011!
